NEW 2022 Holiday Sewing Challenge

The Little Red Dress Project ’22

Well, it’s that time again, my friends. The Little Red Dress Project: my greatest sewing achievement is back again. I can honestly say that we are back to normal, and everyone will be parting for the Christmas season to their heart’s content. In honor of moving forward, I bring you #thelittlereddressproject22. As always this challenge is for you. Push the envelope by sewing a red dress for the season.

Like I said last year, it’s not that you’re totally selfish and not giving back for the holiday. It’s more of embracing your talent and creating a special piece to add to your wardrobe. Take this challenge and make this your best project for the year.

Meet Our 2022 Ambasadors

What is the challenge?

All you have to do is sew a red dress for the season! Think about Christmas dinner, holiday parties, and other events during the festive season. I already have a pattern I would like to work with as invitations are coming in for seasonal parties.

New this year, you can sew a stand-alone red garment and style it for that holiday party or festive neighborhood get-together. Yes! You heard me right.

My co-host for 2022 is the fabulous Talisha of CreativiTeeByT. I am ecstatic to have her on board. Talisha has an amazing and creative flare for sewing. You’ll love her IG feed and want to follow her for sewing inspiration. Talisha also has a YouTube channel, check it out and show your support to her on that platform. Links will be left below.

How to Participate?

To join this challenge all you have to do is head over to Instagram and comment – I’m in via #thelittlereddressproject22 announcement post. Make a red dress or garment based on the requirements below.

Challenge Rules:

Sew a red Christmas dress for yourself, a friend, or a child. Your dress should be 90% red. Here are the exceptions: Shades of Burgundy and Rose Pink (leaning more toward a stronger powerful tone). Other exceptions would be patterned fabric such as floral, lace, and geometric, it’s your choice as long as RED is the most predominant.

New this year, you can sew a stand-alone red garment (Blouse, Pants, Jumpsuit, or Skirt) to create a dazzling holiday outfit.

This is a fun challenge to kick-start your sewing mojo for an epic festive season!
