New Challenge | #sewupcycle22

It’s the month of October and Fall/Autumn is finally here. Still hot in Texas, but just cool enough to start thinking about Fall outfits. I’ve decided to join the SewUpCycle22 challenge, hosted by Becky of Notes from the Sewing Room and Karen of Sew Little Time

Upcycle Material

I love the dress that I’ll be using for this project. Here it is, sewn up two years ago, but not worn often enough. It’s a gorgeous make and the fabric is so very lovely. This print was one of my favorites that year, and I want to make a garment that will be worn more frequently.

Pattern Pairing An Upcycle Project

Possible Finished Garment

This fabric has a lovely drape as well as stretch, and recovery. I find myself wanting to make an essential tee, body skimming dress, or sweater with contrasting neckband and cuff. As I plan my Fall wardrobe.

Below I am wearing Simplicity S9385 – Love the plates on the sleeves of this sweater. I do remember the neckband not laying perfectly flat. But that’s not a major factor. Next is the Cambria from Greenstyle patterns. I’ve never sewn this but the head of the sleeve is a cute detail that would look lovely with my fabric. Lastly is Burda Style 108B from the 09/2019 issue.

Other Possible Pattern Options

What else can I transform this dress into?

I found these dresses while browsing the internet and can visualize each with my fabric.

Each dress has it possibility, it all depends on how much energy I want to use with regard to finding the right pattern. With that said, it looks like you’ll have to visit my YouTube channel on October 31st and Instagram for the reveal.

It goes without saying, I hope this turns out way more awesome than the dress it started out as. This is truly a great challenge and I look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.
