Brown Beauty -simple weekend look with a splash of color!

What better way to wear brown, than with a splash of color. I’m loving this look right now! When I first made this top a few weeks ago, I wasn’t too sure about the fit. It was a bit to loose for my taste and I felt like a failure.

However once I put the look together, it was comfortable and very flattering.

Burdastyle Breton Shirt 02/2019 Style 118

I could have anticipated the fit would be relaxed. If I had paid any attention to the description, which reads “A Breton shirt is as much a part of the laid-back French style as the beret, modest make-up and nonchalance“.  Nonetheless, initially I had a negative feel towards the top.

My affections have grown, and I see now, it’s a wonderful wardrobe essential and would be great in a number of your favorite color. Don’t worry about time, you can whip 3 new Brenton in an afternoon.

Pulling The Look Together

EXPRESS High Waisted Denim Perfect White Jean Leggings

These are my new jean leggings and I really love the fit and feel. I may have to drop a pound or two 🙂 and the fit would be even better. They are a bit long, but I’m not too concerned. It’s just an FYI for you, I’m 5’9″ and I’m getting a healthy set of bunching at them.

Mustard Leather Heeled Mules

Wow! This was just what I needed to add a little pizzazz to this outfit. It’s just the sort of piece that will take your look to the next level. The color and details of the straps add a layer of interest to compliment my new top. These are great to walk in, I wear a size 10 and would say this is true to size.

Wood Handled Structured Shopper

As I continue to refine my style, I’ve spent the last few weeks adding core pieces that will elevate my look, while keeping my personality in the forefront of those purchases. I knew I needed a new handbag and the moment I spotted this shopper, my name was all over it. It was really hard to decide between the two color. Since I’m working building a good wardrobe foundations, I opted for the brown shopper. Although I’m a bit peeved that the mustard is temporarily out of stock.

What do you think of the top I sewed? Do you like the finished look?
