Cali Faye Collection – The ESTEEM Dress Review

Hello everyone, today I wanted to share my review of Cali Faye Collection – ESTEEM Dress. When the call came for pattern testing, I was instantly mesmerized by the crossed back design. As you all know, I love racerback and any design remotely close to it. This dress as with all Cali Faye’s design is on point with the look and feel of anthropologie. Which I will continue to say, Antro to the core, effortless, clean, modern, minimalist style.

The ESTEEM has a scoop front and crossed back and not to mention inseam pockets. The back of the skirt closes with an invisible zipper. The hem line is intended to fall just above the knee but is customizable to your needs. The tutorial was easy to follow and I love how all the notches match up nicely. This is a pdf pattern and available  sizes are 00-16 and light weight woven is the recommended fabric. If you dislike printing and sticking pages, there is a copy shop version. I have to be honest, if a pattern doesn’t have a copy shop version, I won’t purchase it. The only exception would be if  it’s a super simple pattern.

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I love how the pattern was drafted, where everything fall together so nicely. I didn’t have any fit issues, but you will have to do a little twisty turny move with the shoulder. Other than that the it’s golden, plus the illustration is very helpful. I give credit to my fabric choice for such an amazing fit. The stable floral knit worked really nice. It’s always a gamble when you use knit with a design for woven. This dress is for the intermediate sewist but with all the fun details it only took a day to make.

I choose to add a little spice to my outfit by with the the hat, the boots was necessary as it was 47o degrees out. I can see myself on long beach walk, or a having brunch at a nice restaurant.

What a fabulous design for a tropical vacation!

Renata xoxo

That cross back design is really cool! This is totally Anthropologie, and you’ve made it look even more so with this print. The jacket really finishes the look well too.
