Made for Mermaids | Mama Cassie Pattern Review

The Search Is Over

I can honestly say that, I’ve been searching high and low for an off-the-should top made of knit [FOREVER]. All I could ever find were woven, they would either have a zipper in the back or elastic along the neckline. Although, these are fantastic design, most ready-to-wear off-shoulder tops have the Mama Cassie feel and I had the get the pattern the moment I found it.

What You Get

With this pattern you have the option to make a trendy knit peplum, mini or dress. And guess with it also comes with a cold shoulder option. I love the fact that you have a 3/4 sleeve as well as a sleeves. This gives you year round possibilities.

Not only that but! You get a half circle skirt, that delivers a varity of hemlines (peplum, high low peplum, mini, dress and high low dress) as well as an optional inseam pockets. This pattern is well worth every penny of that $9.00 for the PDF download.

Because I hate printing and sticking PDF’s (recently branded myself copy shop girl), I was excited the pattern came layered, and , color coded. Your package has detailed and precise instructions with full color photos. What a wonderful offering  to teach and guide beginners.

The Review

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? My project turned out exactly as the one on the envelope

Were the instructions easy to follow? By far, this has been one of the best instructions, I had the pleasure using in a project.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Everything about this pattern is awesome, I loved all that it has to offer and my current project is a 5 star!

Fabric Used: Geometric Print Knit

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would definitely sew again, this would be a great year round staple piece and highly recommend, especially for beginners.

Conclusion: This is a must have, with all the options and hemlines it’s the perfect go to pattern. It’s also a quick sew, that can easily be hacked to your hearts content. I am such a big fan now, I think you would also.

The peplum is really well-balanced with the off the shoulder style, and this is a great fabric!
