Floral &Lace Bustier Dress
Happy September Beautiful People!
I’m playing catch up, trying to review my summer sewing
before the Fall gets into full swing. It’s Labor Day Weekend and the weather was amazing on Saturday when these photo was taken. What I have here today is the bustier
dress from burda’s June issue. VPR coming soon! If you would like to download the
pattern, please click here.
For this project I cut my pattern a size 36, sadly with the excitement
to sew the seam allowance was forgotten. If you look at my shoulders you will
see the straps are pretty scant, but it still turned out great.
This dress is quite fitted and features a deep scoop
neckline. My fabric of choice was stretch cotton, because it’s always forgiven
when I make these close fitting pieces. As the model shows of her dress with
lace overlay, I did the same. I got my fabric from Joann’s earlier this year,
however it’s not available anymore! The lace was from the spring bridal
collection at Joann’s.
The instructions were almost user friendly; until you got to
the step for attaching the lining. Had I not done these a few times before, I
would be in a lot of trouble. One thing remains the same with any sewing
project, read the instructions and read it slow at least two times.
A cream colored tricot fabric was used for the lining;
invisible zipper was the closure choice and hand stitching to attach lining to
zipper. My overall feelings are this is a great dress; I would definitely
make it again. What a smashing LBD this would be!
Thanks for visiting!
