Pattern Review Burda 6911 – My Dress Version
Hi There,
Remember my twisted front top from a week ago (Click here)? This is the dress I made using that wonderful Burda 6911. I had my reservations about the fabric, mainly because it looked a bit childish (at first). Then as I looked more and began envisioning it, I could see a sort of DVF in it.
What Say you? I say, although it’s not a signature DVF wrap dress, the overall silhouette has a similar feel.
Pattern Description: Sophisticated, entwined front parts give both the shirt and the dress a special look. The bi-elastic jersey provides shape retention and a perfect fit. The dress has got a flared skirt with nicely draped panels
Pattern Sizing: 34-44 (My dress was cut at 36) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the front twist, it’s a nice detail.
Fabric Used: ITY Jersey
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I modified the pattern to a slim dress. I copied the top pattern and used a straight skirt pattern for the hip curve. Then extended the length to 27 inches, to convert to top to a dress.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes
Conclusion: I love this pattern and will use again.
Thanks for visiting & Happy Sewing!
