The Peplum Top
I love Burda patterns, as always their instructions can do with a little help. Nonetheless I’m a fan and this was/is my first peplum. Wow – fun and fantastic piece. Definitely a hit with me :). Below is my short and sweet review!

Description (from Burda)
This top has a beautifully draped peplum that makes a great
impression and trims your waist. Pair it over a matching skirt for a
dress look, or for a casual look wear with a pair of leggings.
What fabric was used and where did you purchase?
Velvet from my mom in Trinidad. Some days it seems I get all my fabric from her 🙂
How long did it take to sew?
This can be easily completed in an afternoon. Take courage in this because I’m a slow sewer.
Would you sew again?
Yes I would.
How would you style next time?
I would really like to make in plaid and wear skinny jeans. This is a versatile pattern and I’m always excited to add zippers than make button holes.
This was simple to make and I really like that it has the ability to
morph into a dress if you made the skirt (from the burda pattern) with
the same fabric. My one take-away while sewing this is, I have to learn
to adjust the sleeves. I was blessed with broad shoulders and working
out helps to make them more predominant.
I’ll update with more photos soon!

Happy Sewing!
I love it. I have made a couple, and I would like to make a couple more.
